How does Candle work?

Light a candle and stay focused for as long as it burns. One continuous burn is one gentle promise to yourself. When it burns all the way down, the candle is kept and joins your Shelf.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no email required. Candle gives you a cozy random nickname (like “Quiet Ember”) so you can join Study Rooms without ever creating an account.

What are Study Rooms, and who can see me?

Rooms let you focus alongside other people (a calm version of body doubling). Others in a room only see your cozy nickname and that you are present, plus the shared candle’s timer. They never see your real name or any personal data. Full details are in the privacy policy.

I left the app or locked my phone. Did I lose my session?

No. Candle follows real clock time, so locking your screen or stepping away is fine. And if you do stop early, there is no shame and no broken streak. The wax you already burned still counts as time well spent.

How do I delete my data?

Your promises, Shelf, and nickname all live on your device. Deleting the app removes them. We keep no long-term profile on our side.
